March 16, 2026

Be part of a cutting-edge educational project!

LabXchange, the free online K–12 science education platform from Harvard University, is seeking volunteers from the STEMM industry for its new initiative, CareerXplorer. This tool is designed to bridge educational content with industry insights, helping to cultivate essential skills for aspiring scientists. We are looking for individuals or businesses to help ensure that CareerXplorer is relevant, accurate, and useful for US high school students.

Learn more about CareerXplorer in this 5-minute summary video:

How to Get Involved

Volunteering requires less than an hour of your time and will reach thousands of students. Ways to get involved include:

  1. Review career profiles for accuracy and complete a feedback survey. Volunteers are especially needed for reviewing profiles that are not yet live on the site! (Example profile: Biological technician)
  2. Write your own career story to be published on the platform. A template will be provided to easily fill in. (Example narrative: Marcelo Oliver, Biological Illustrator)
  3. Support career simulation development with content developers by contextualizing key duties and skills on a brief call. (Example career simulation: Investigating Disease Through Data)

We are looking for volunteers from all professional levels and fields. Featured and planned career paths are diverse, and include:

  • Research & Discovery: Microbiologist, Biochemist, Neuroscientist, Immunologist, Virologist, Data Scientist
  • Manufacturing & Production: Biomanufacturing Specialist, Quality Control Specialist, Health & Safety Officer
  • Communications & Outreach: Communications Officer, Medical Science Liaison
  • Medicine: Pharmacist, Genetic Counselor
