Professor Meng received his PhD in statistics from Harvard University, and he is the founding editor-in-chief of the Harvard Data Science Review. His research interests include statistical theory and principles for data science, philosophical and foundational issues in statistics, statistical computing and computational statistics, signal extractions, and uncertainty assessments.

Alain also serves as the UNESCO Chair on Life Sciences and Social Innovation. He received his PhD from Paris 6 University (Pierre et Marie Curie).
