Looking Back: The 2023 Latin America Teacher Ambassador Cohort

LabXchange is a global learning platform that strives to support local contexts and needs across all continents. Thanks to an introduction from our collaborator PhET Interactive Simulations, we were able to convene our first Latin American cohort of teacher ambassadors in 2023.

Led by master teacher Gisele Bosso de Freitas, a physics educator from Brazil, the 14 teacher ambassadors represented ten Central and South American nations, from Mexico to Argentina.

Held from November 2023 to March 2024, the rigorous program focused on hands-on teacher training. Ambassadors deployed their expertise to create robust lesson plans for biology, chemistry, physics, and other STEM subjects, enriched with virtual content from the LabXchange library. They also worked tirelessly to share LabXchange with other educators in their communities and networks, as well as their own students, by hosting virtual and in-person workshops.

We look forward to continuing to support educators and learners in Latin America by offering teacher ambassador programs, translating content into Spanish and Portuguese, and enabling all of our users to advocate for LabXchange, offer feedback, and help expand our user community!
