What does the Public Health Academy do?

Public Health Academy is a consultancy dedicated to making public health education impactful and engaging. Driven by a passion for making learning relevant and fun, we bring public health learning to life in exciting and meaningful ways.

What's one fun fact that LabXchange users should know about your organization?

It all started as a YouTube channel aimed at building curiosity and an understanding of public health and infectious diseases. Growing subscribers and great feedback encouraged the evolution of this into a global academy.  

What motivates you to work in science education?

I believe that science is the key to solving many of society’s biggest challenges. In public health, this means anything from improving health outcomes, addressing health inequities, fighting outbreaks to addressing climate change. Playing a part in sharing this knowledge and empowering people with the tools to make informed decisions—both for themselves and their communities—is deeply rewarding.

Which Public Health Academy content are you most proud of?

It’s hard to choose one! I’m proud of the collection of public health videos on the Youtube channel because it translates very complex topics into clear and simple ideas that are relatable.

How can learners and educators best use your content?

Our content is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing learners and educators to adapt it to their preferred learning or teaching styles. It can be explored as standalone videos on specific topics or as a series of related videos for a more comprehensive understanding.

What does the Public Health Academy have planned for the future?

We're on a mission to make public health education easy and exciting for everyone, whether you are part of the health workforce or just curious about the topic! Watch this space as we roll out more resources and learning pathways, plus fun and engaging new videos on our YouTube channel!
