In May 2025, LabXchange announced the launch of a new collaboration with the Talent Development Center (TDC) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to empower 8,000 Indian science educators over the next four years.
After rigorous training with the LabXchange team, the inaugural group of master teacher trainers has completed the program. In the coming months, stay tuned as we bring their unique pedagogical perspectives to the LabXchange library in the form of new pathways aligned to Indian syllabi, including the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) syllabus. Going forward, these exemplary educators will work to share state-of-the-art online resources and digital methodologies within their own communities of practice, and they will nurture the next generation of Indian scientists.
We are grateful for the efforts of the inaugural cohort of master teacher trainers—in particular, Dr. Subba Reddy B, chief research scientist and convener of the TDC & Skill Development Center (SDC), and Dr. Souvik Mandal, IISc alumnus and LabXchange data engineer and AI solutions architect. Together, we look forward to strengthening STEM education in the region together for years to come.
“The best advice I’ve received about being an educator is, 'Teach the student, not the subject.'
This reminded me that while content is important, real learning happens when we connect with students as individuals—understanding their strengths, struggles, and motivations. Building relationships, being patient, and adapting to different learning styles has made me a more effective and compassionate teacher.”
