Science Educator Spotlight: Iwona Płusa

We sat down with science educator Iwona Płusa to discuss how LabXchange helps her create differentiated learning experiences for students. Iwona is a biology teacher and teacher trainer at WCIES (Warsaw Centre for Socio-Educational Innovation and Training/Warszawskie Centrum Innowacji Edukacyjnych i Szkoleń) in Warsaw, Poland. She also works with primary and secondary school students in a nature studio.

What are your teaching inspirations?I try to help teachers teaching online. How has LabXchange helped you address challenges in your teaching practice?I can create interesting materials for students on the platform.

How has LabXchange helped you to support the specific learning needs of a class or student? I can place materials according to the level of education. Specifically, I can create an individual learning pathway for students.

What sets LabXchange apart from other online learning tools you have used? There is a very rich library of materials for students at all educational levels in various subjects. For example, I even found an animation that can be used in working with really young children!

What do you hope to accomplish in your career as a STEM educator? I try to show science teachers the possibilities of the platform so that they can use it in their work with students. Additionally, I organize trainings for teachers at various educational levels.
